OMG!! That was hysterical!!! I live in MN and we have been buried in snow early! Now we have been dealing with below zero temps for daytime highs for the last couple of weeks with only a 2 day break!! And we are going to start the new year in subzero temps til the end of the week!!! I've lived here all my life and really don't remember it being this cold for so long!!! YUK!!! Hoping for a January thaw!!! Thanks for the feed though that was really fun to watch!!! :)

I live in the East Coast and we just had an ice storm..My hydro was off for 5 days..The longest ever! Yes this winter is a beast....We are having a total meltdown with the weather....

So I know I live fairly close to you..Was over the boarder on Saturday in Calais....looks like we just have to ride this one out....I was so glad I had a wood stove though!!!!!!!!!

Yes I can totally relate!!! We also have a wood stove that cuts the cost of the propane to heat our home!!! Wood is a heck of a lot cheaper than gas!!!! Love the feel of a wood fire!!! Hope you don't get any more ice storms!!! I saw pics of that and it looked awful!!! Have a great New Year!!!

Three people I know well (including my husband) have seriously bit it on the ice in the last two weeks. One of them even had to have surgery and a 5 day hospital stay! That was painful to watch...

I live in Arkansas and we had an ice storm a few weeks ago and our neighbor drove her Volvo into the

Lake we live around! She luckily had her window open and was able to climb out the window before it went completely under! New motivation for me: butt small enough to fit through car window!

It would have been funny if it hadn't hit so close to home. Then again, I'm the person that cringes at America's Funniest Home Videos when someone gets hurt, even if it is stupid and silly.

In other news: butt and car window. Good goal!

RJ, the problem is me! I did like the cars sliding down the street….

And in case it wasn't clear, I like the butt/car window goal for myself.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
