I'm 8 days post-op and I told the nurse about my weepy incisions at my appointment on Thursday and she checked them and said they looked great and to put gauze over them if they kept at it. However, I forgot to ask about the itchiness!!! The itchiness is not the incision site itself but the skin surrounding them. It's driving me bonkers and I'm trying my best not to scratch! Almost as bad as when I was pregnant and my tummy would itch like crazy. Plus, the skin is really dry and sensitive...can I put anything on the skin around my incisions to help? And is this normal? ????

i used solarcaine spray. it was easy to spray it on. it took the itch away completely. i also use solarcaine spray on the itchy rash we sometimes get under the tummy or breast. it just works.

You can use some cocoa butter cream around the incisions, too! I remember the itching! Best wishes, you are on the healing path! Happy New year, Karen..aka.kll724

You are on the road to recovery. The stitch are ais healing when this happens. There are several drugs over the counter you can try. Ask the drugstore staff and they will point one out to you.
