Hello , so I've been sleeved for 1 1/2 years, lost 92 pounds and never made my goal of 150, which was 8 pounds, I kept bouncing btw 158-162, I gained some pounds over the holidays, now I'm 166. Kinda down about that. I've always been stressed and obsessed with each thing I stick into my mouth, until about a few weeks ago, so I admit that it's my fault. My question is this, how did u get your last 15-20 pounds off, I don't believe in liquid diet only because it's kinda non sense now. I'm going back to basics, 1000 cals, 30 carbs, 80 Protein and cardio, but is there something else anyone would recommend to me? I feel like I am missing something??

I think you should pop over to the Vets thread. They've been doing the 5:2 diet to shed the last few pounds and/or to drop any regain. They're a fun and active bunch of posters. I think you'll find lots of good advice.

I tried 5:2 and it didn't work well with me. I'm a type one diabetic and my blood sugar dropped like crazy. Thank u though.

Hi Susie, I got to goal by weighing every day and tracking my food and Fluid. I also exercised six days a week ( cut back to 4 days a week at goal).

I think the exercise helps speed up metabolism. I kept calories low, choosing lean Protein, fat free or low fat dairy, no starchy veggies, fruit and whole grain in that order. I drank calorie free drinks and use Splenda instead of sugar. I still weigh my Protein and measure most other foods to control portion size. And I get at least 64 oz of fluids a day.

I participated in the challenges here (I think valentines day is the next one), checking in once per week. Although I weigh myself daily, I only tracked my weight on Fridays.

Thank you Linda. I track from time to time on MFP, once I got closer to goal I stopped. And I never messed up until recently (holidays) and I feel bummed out. I know what to do, and your input truly puts everything into perspective. I just feel like ill never get these 15-20 pounds off and feeling down. I plan to get back on track starting now and hopefully that will do the trick. I'm happy to say I'm a size 4/6 but I can't believe how fast I gained 9 pounds ! Blah! Lol

I track using a whiteboard on the fridge. Fast and easy. Hash marks for each cup of fluids and tracks grams of Protein.

then use a little notebook you carry in your purse. Even a little pad of stickies will do. That's what I use when traveling. I find some cute ones in the dollar bins at Target.

I'm also planning on losing the last 20 lbs. I've maintained for a few months now and am now ready to work on the last 20. My plan is to bad food from my bedroom. About 50% of my daily calories are eaten in bed, watching tv past 7 pm. If I forbid food in the bedroom, I'm likely to lose the last 20!

I HATE dieting. It's why I had wls in the first place. I count my calories occasionally on MFP (maybe 2-4 x a month) and rarely go above 1200. Now I'm likely to drop below 800! And I'm giving up my nightly g;lass of wine. That should keep my snacking in check too.

Find those easily ignored calories (a Hersheys kiss, a bucket of popcorn at the movies, a latte at Starbucks) and try to remove those. we all have those little calories that slip in unoticed.

Good luck to us both!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
