Surgery Day Tomorrow!

Recommended Posts

I am so incredibly excited and nervous. This has been at least two years in the making and I can't believe it's finally here. These past two months have came incredibly fast. I feel like I am going to a funeral tomorrow (for food). How weird is that? What if I wake up and decide I made the worst decision ever? What if I don't wake up? Aaaah! Wish me luck peeps. I will keep in touch with my surgery experience. I sure have appreciated everybody else's stories.

Good luck tomorrow.

Also as a normal part of your journey during your first month you will have some - what the heck did I do this for - moments. Keep in mind it is normal, and a short lived feeling.

It's normal to be nervous. Don't worry... I found the surgical experience much easier than I feared it would be. Just think how different this summer will be for you! There should be an amazing difference by then - you'll be feeling great and shopping for pretty summer clothes! :-)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
