I'm 4 weeks post op and have lost 27 lbs. I've been the same weight for over 10 days!!! I thought the first three months you drop significantly. What is this?!?!

it's normal. just the way the body loses weight. not in a straight sloping line, but a messy, stair-stepped pattern. it's normal. it's normal. focus on something else. get out of your head. make good choices and let your body do what it is going to do without criticizing it at every turn. I don't believe in 'stalls'.

First of all. Protein is the backbone of weight loss esp. with this program...If you are not getting enough nourishment your body will shut you down and in a hurry...It is protecting you from starvation and that is a normal reaction...Nothing strange here..

The less you eat your metabolism slows down as well and fat is restored in the tissues for safe keeping.....

Once you start taking in Protein and Water and Vitamins..Your body will relax and you will start to lose again...

Right now look at it like this..Your body is taking a much needed rest from everything it has endured through this journey so far..Stay on target, and keep going...and soon your body will say..I am still being fed..I am okay and I can release weight..

Don't you think the body is an amazing machine to be able to care for you like this!!! I do! :)

( I just posted this on another thread that asked almost the same question )

Speaking of caloric intake…I am 3 months out, lost 50 pounds since 9/23/13 sleeve surgery, a total of 75 pounds since pre-op diet and now I am stalled. So, at this point does anyone have any advice about how many calories and how much Protein I should be getting daily? Thanks

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
