Bariartic Advantage sends out samples. I take those and Nature's Made fish oil Gummy. Ask your dietitian for their thoughts.

Good luck with your journey. I love the band and it was the best thing I did for me.

I'm taking fewer Vitamins and supplements now -- we are going to save some money! There are a few key ones I have to have. Fish oils make a big difference for me (arthritis and joint pain) and I was nervous about the big gel caps. Found a brand called "Half the Size" and they are much smaller. I take a gel cap Vitamin D also and a supplement called SAMe. I'm also taking Biotin as a preventive measure. There's one that dissolves in the mouth. I am just two months out and I think I will be settling into a routine soon -- may include a Protein Shake each day. That's a good way for me to get vitamins and I like it that I can add in whatever I feel like I'm needing (flax seeds, brewers yeast, etc.).

I am taking the Centrum chewable for adults. When compared to the gummies, it has a lot more Vitamins and minerals in it. It doesn't taste the best but it's not horrible either. My doc prescribed Folbic, which is basically just B vitamins. I also take Caltrate chewables 600 +D. They're fruity and taste pretty good, I think. I am supposed to take fish oil but I can't do the large gel caps that I had before surgery as they're just too big. I tried the gummies and ICK! The ones I bought tasted just like chewing fish oil caps! They were GROSS! I've heard that MegaRed makes krill oil caps that are much smaller so I may try those.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
