nesa83 89 Posted December 29, 2013 I'm a week post op can I still have gas pain? All of sudden maybe 6 times a day mostly when I'm in bed laying down I get a pain (it's not too bad) from my rib cage to almost half of my stomach. It's like a tight pain then it just goes away I would constantly get that at the hospital so I assumed it was gas. I'm not sure if it is though, if I could still have gas. Sorry that was the best way to describe gas, if it is. I'm just scared it's a leak or something. Oh and I also had a hernia repair.
planetheather 137 Posted December 29, 2013 I had a hernia repair too and that sounds like what I experienced. And yes, it lasted at least a week and was worse when I tried to lie down. I've never had a leak though so I don't know what that feels like. Does it feel better when you walk? I found that to be the best thing.
Chele H 427 Posted December 29, 2013 Could be a stomach spasm. I had those the first day. I think a leak is a more constant pain along with chills and fever. Call your surgeon and tell them what is happening to put your mind at ease. 1 nesa83 reacted to this

That's why I'm assuming it's not a leak because I don't think that comes and goes. I hope it's just gas, I'm scared only because I'm not sure if those are gas symptoms. BellaHugz 331 Posted December 29, 2013 I agree Call your Doctor when in doubt. All questions are important, plus he might give you something for the gas pain to so it could be a win/win. 1 nesa83 reacted to this
