Hello,

I'm new to this site. Everything I've been reading has been helpful and informative. I have a weigh in on Monday and I'm nervous. It determines if I can start my two week liquid diet. I've been eating right and replacing Protein shakes for Breakfast and sometimes lunch. 'Ive been trying my best but is became hard around the two major holidays. I was beating myself up really bad because I really need this surgery. I have a heart condition, that is rare, because they only find it in people in their 60s and up. If I'm not at 425, I think I might be on the brink of giving up. I have so much life to live and so much love to give, its not even funny. I have a wonderful support system and a marvelous boyfriend who supports me wholeheartedly. I dont know what I'm going to do if I'm not nowhere where I'm suppose to be.I don't know anyone personally that has gone through this, is there any advice that anyone can give me. Thank you in advance!

Hi I am new here too! Think positive thoughts for your weigh in. I know it is easier said than done but it sounds like you have been working hard to achieve your goal. The diet with Protein shakes as Meal Replacements is very challenging especially round this time of year. I am going through that this week as my pre-op and I know it is not easy. Sending positive vibes your way for a successful weigh-in. Here for you if you need to chat.

Your health problems worsen as you get older, like me and my husband. Life has been downhill but I am happy to say we have been sleeved and no more sitting around being depressed. Best of luck!!!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
