sarsar 824 Posted December 29, 2013 This forum is dedicated to veteran Sleevers who are one year or more post-op to discuss issues specific to those who are further along in their journey. Please note: You must be one year out to post or create topics here. Am I correct that with forum is now for vets only, meaning those a year or more out? So in order to post/comment or create a topic here you are supposed to be a year or more out? loseitsoon 157 Posted December 29, 2013 I thought you had to be year out or be at goal or have hundred posts. I am 12 days from being a year out and have been at goal for a month. I have felt like a veteran for awhile now!
No game 14,437 Posted December 29, 2013 It is a year out and posts were 200 but I think that has been changed for the time being.. As for goal? No, many of are not at "goal" or have reached it and then had some regain so being a "vet" has nothing to to with weight.. We are supposed to have (very soon I hope) it built into the software an automatic stop to the newly sleeved posting here. It will be dependent on surgery date (not join date) but until then it needs to be an honor system also the hosts of this area can remind the newly sleeved (non vets) To please not post here. mistysj 1,940 Posted December 29, 2013 I thought non-vets were allowed to comment, not post. I know several of us were considered vets for a bit before the rules changed.

I know several of us were considered vets for a bit before the rules changed. No non vets were never "allowed" to comment.. That was something in one thread that someone had mentioned might be a good idea.. The rules were changed after many discussions with the long term vets here.. I for one was on board with this even though when the discussion started I was nowhere near a year out yet... Even at a year I have so much more to understand and learn.. feedyoureye 3,087 Posted December 29, 2013 I know the definition has been a bit of a moving target, but there is a reason for it. You really do have different questions and answers further out... I mean, really you could make a case for having a 5 year out only forum... but with the sleeve, it would be mostly empty! I love hearing what people have to say about being far out from surgery... thats where we are all heading after all... a place where the concerns are past mushies, slow losers and feeling like you have lost those 30 pounds forever ...when you haven't even gotten to the 3 year mark yet where statistically the most regain happens. Its hard to imagine ever feeling hungry again or eating more than 1/4 cup of food early out. Its nice to have a place where that is just not in the mix. Most of the vets reach out and answer questions in other parts of the forum, and the Vets section is open for reading. I would have loved to have a vets only forum to read early out... pure gold! I could see one thread with "ask a vet" as the title, with the understanding that the vets would not be interested in answering questions that are not really about vets experiences. 4 Julie norton, Lisa's Hope, mistysj and 1 other reacted to this
lsereno 2,525 Posted December 29, 2013 It would be great to have rules for this forum as a stickie. They don't show on the ipad app. I wasn't aware they had changed because my computer is need of repair and I access the site almost exclusively from my ipad now. Can someone post these rules as a sticky so everyone can see them?
feedyoureye 3,087 Posted December 31, 2013 This is in the header of the Vets forum, do you think that is enough? Do we still need to make a sticky? Lynda said that on the ipad, you can't see the header and suggested to make a sticky so people can see it. There are still people who are posting and or commenting here who are not vets yet, according to the new rules.
Butterthebean 8,146 Posted December 31, 2013 Folks....I don't think we need a sticky because very soon there will be software controls limiting member's posting ability in the vets forum. Only those who meet the criteria will be able to post, the site will block all others from posting. They will be able to read only. The criteria will be 1 year post op and 200 previous posts. vogue 310 Posted December 31, 2013 I agree with the rule although now that means me being 16 months post-op, at normal BMI for 6 motnhs, under goal currently, etc...I will not qualify to lurk or post here because I do not have 200 posts

And you're not too far shy of 200 post. You can get there. We felt the post count requirement was needed to protect the forum from other circumstances. However we did allow for that requirement to be waived on a case-by-case basis.... Mainly just for people like you that we do not want to exclude. 1 cubbies76 reacted to this
