penman53 493 Posted December 29, 2013 I bought some pita chips today, 19 grams of carbs in 1 ounce. I weighed out 1 ounce and ate them with roasted pepper hummus. You think it is ok to have that for lunch when your on "real" food? I hope so cause tasted yummy.
RebecaSparkles 247 Posted December 29, 2013 I've eaten them. They are yummy. But, as you know, hummus doesn't have much Protein per tbs. Sabra brand has 2tbs of hummus for 2g Protein. Not the best choice. You can have this be part of your day if you plan ahead & do a Protein shake etc. That said, I do hummus, chicken kabob chunks & a few pita chips like 3 of the Stacey's garlic parm. And I'm done. I got the best of both worlds, ended up w/ 1.5 oz chicken and 2 oz of hummus. Yes!!! I dislike Protein shakes so I try to eat my protein rather than eat low protein & do shakes. Either way works, just gotta feel it out. 1 Kindle reacted to this
NMJG 1,266 Posted December 29, 2013 I eat hummus, but I try to eat it with vegs instead of bread or crackers to keep the carbs down. It's really good with those little mini bell peppers, but even carrots and celery are tasty with it.
