I was sleeved on the 17 of Dec. I started staged 3 today (pureed) foods. I'm only able to eat 2 or 3 bites, then I'm full.

What I'm confused about is, as the weeks go by is my new stomach going to get bigger where can take in more or will it

always be this way? What are the different stages here? I go back to work on the 14 of January and I'm just wondering how

will I prepare my lunches. Also, I ate the same thing all day, until I finished it. Is that normal or okay to do?

I'm 8 weeks out and was the same way. As the swelling goes down in your stomach you will be able to get more in. It just takes time.

I went back to work 2 weeks after surgery and brought a tiny Rubbermaid container with 1/4 c cottage cheese in it. A lemon greek yogurt, etc...The yogurt took me a couple of hours to finish. Just a small spoonful at a time.

It seems like it gets bigger because the swelling goes down. Right after surgery there is basically no room in there because of the swelling. By 6 weeks most of the swelling is down and then the stomach "relaxes" over the next 6 months or so until it can hold between half a cup and a full cup, depending on your individual anatomy. None of this is the stomach stretching and it is normal and expected.

Remember your stomach has just been through major surgery... there's some major swelling going on! You will definitely be able to eat more as time goes on and the swelling goes down. I am 3 weeks post op and can have 1/2 cup of Soup.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
