Hi, I forgot to write that I am a 62 year old female from Peabody and was banded in 2006. Wondering if there is anyone out there from the same area. I lost about 80 lbs and have about 60 to 70 lbs to go. I need a pal for support.

We can make this journey together.

Hi,

Sorry but I am south shore, Randolph. Nice to see people from the Boston area, though. I am 63 and have lost 75-80 . My doctor is thrilled with what I weigh now but I would like to lose 40-50 more, I think.

I go to WOW, the prices are great. I just have not been much lately, no excuse other than lazy.

I enjoy eating out a lot. I really enjoy Not Your Average Joe's. Yes I eat the bread, but the crust of the ends dunked in the oil. Bad me but I love it. Tonight we went to Bugaboo and the other night Bertucci's. I do eat out a real lot. What area restaurants do you like to go to?

Have a great evening.

Arlene

Hi Arlene, I won't hold it against it against you for living in another time one. lol. Wow, you are almost at your goal. Sugar is my problem is why I can't get the rest of my weight. With the rny you get violently I'll when you have sugar. That is what they suggested to me. I didn't want that.

2014 is our year to hit our goal. Keep up the good work.

Maybe we can lean on each other.

Donna

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
