Hello, I had lapband June 2013. A few times since I have had severe gas pain. I thought it was that maybe I can't tolerate Beans anymore. But this time no beans...horrible stomach pain, tons of gas (flatulence) I even threw up tonight. Just wondering if anyone else has ever experienced this.

do you take antiacid medication? acid in the stomach can make you feel nauseated and also make you vomit. it sounds like gasx is something you should try. but of course please call your surgeon. he may prescribe medication that he would want you to have. i hope you feel better soon.

I don't take acid medication regularly. Tonight I took gasx and tums. Every time this has happened in the past I took gasx. It doesn't really help. I was just wondering if others experienced this. Maybe it's from the veggies I ate?

I would hate to try diagnose you, but see your surgeon. It could be reflux, or you might be having a gall bladder attack. Best wishes, if you are having this often, it might not be something to foo around with!! Karen..aka...kll724

Put those medical professionals to work for you! We are always amazed at how good they are, especially those gastro docs. My husband suffers from acid reflux and there can be all kinds of contributing factors.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
