How long without losing until you get a fill?

Recommended Posts

This month I quit losing weight. I haven't gained. It's bringing me down a little.

How long do you give your plateau before you get another fill?

Is your surgeon stingy with fills? Mine won't give you one until you aren't losing 10 pounds a month. The problem is that they take your weight the last time you were in and divide that by how many months since your last fill. If you look at it that way, I've lost more than 10 pounds per month. BUT I HAVEN'T. I haven't lost any in weeks.

Is this normal? Will it start dropping again by itself without a fill?

I'm unsure what to do.:faint:

derbygirl...probably not that encouraging but for me i tried changing my diet a tad...sometimes just changing a few things that you have been eating can make ALL the difference. I pretty much have a fill every 3 months. loosing or not...but changing my diet a tad usually helps get over the plateau...

Hi Derbygirl Im 11months post op and I dont have a fill and Im still losing. What I learned so far change of stereotype helps. So try to change what you eat. I switched from dark bread for Breakfast to sweet breakfasts cause it starts up your metabolism. Also dont be afraid of sugars...piece of dark chocolate 50%cocoa and above in the morning or latest the 2 p.m. helped me a lot! Since I started eating sugars in the morning I have to eat evry 2-3 hours, it might be unforcomtable, but its a sighn that your metabolism is working well.

Just my two cents:-)

Good luck to you.

Eva

It really depends on the individual. I tend to wait 2 weeks without losing before scheduling a fill. You do have to be honest with yourself though and be sure that it's not poor food choices and lack of activity that is causing you to keep the weight on. If you've been making all of the right choices and still not losing, then go for the fill. The tool can't work if you don't set it properly.

Usually when you go for a few weeks without losing it is time for a fill. Everyone is different though and each of us needs to make sure we are eating like a bandster with Protein first.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
