Phillyphan 1 Posted December 27, 2013 I'm drinking strawberry flavored whey. I don't like it and the more I drink it, the harder it is to get down. Anyone have any tips to make it taste better?
ribearty 544 Posted December 27, 2013 (edited) You could add different flavored sugar-free syrups to it. Torani and Davinci both make them. You could also buy a different flavor or mix vanilla with the strawberry to cut down the strawberry flavor. My go to shakes were Premier ready made chocolate and vanilla. I would add caramel and PB2 to chocolate and pumpkin or some other flavor to vanilla. Edited December 27, 2013 by ribearty
McButterpants 2,846 Posted December 27, 2013 Are you pre-op or post-op? Pre-op I would add some fruit (about 1/4 of a low glycemic fruit like blueberries or strawberries). Post-op I add PB2 to chocolate and vanilla shakes. sugar free puddings and jellos are good to add as well - my favorite is a vanilla shake with about 1 tablespoon of sugar free pistachio pudding dry mix. Do you have anything else or can you purchase something other than strawberry? I also have the sugar free flavored syrups. I mixed the chocolate with hot Water (less than 140 degrees or you get a clumpy mess) to make hot chocolate.< /p> Good luck - shakes really do get old. When they do it's time to get creative! Kimber163 3 Posted January 5, 2014 Thanks! I'm going to have to try the SF pudding mixes. I'm not even a week into this and having issues downing the shakes. I found one I like, but I know eventually it will get old
hollyr 49 Posted January 5, 2014 I am over a year out and still drink my shakes. I prefer powder over ready mix so I can dilute it a bit more. Too thick/ strong makes me ick. I also tend to mix vanilla w another flavor (half vanilla/half choc) bc again if the flavor is too "strong" my belly gets angry.
