hpendleton0126 2 Posted December 27, 2013 I love Peanut Butter but I have no idea if it's OK to have right now. I like getting just a spoonful as a snack but I'm afraid to eat it right now. Any ideas or suggestions?
voutman 15 Posted December 27, 2013 How many weeks are you post op?
hpendleton0126 2 Posted December 27, 2013 Just a week but I'm having a hard time kicking the craving. I just didn't really see how it would hurt.
voutman 15 Posted December 27, 2013 I would say no only by what my doctors phases were! I wasn't able to have Peanut Butter until the 4th week! I'd check with your doctor as I am the type that has followed every order and didn't cheat! Are you on liquids? I had sugar free Popsicles to crave my sweet tooth! It does get better.... I'm almost 3 months post op and down 64lbs I wish you the best of luck! 1 princesstami reacted to this
hpendleton0126 2 Posted December 27, 2013 Thank you. I was doing really good the most part but the last couple of days I guess I've just been mourning food because I see everyone around me eating my favorite foods. Hopefully it will pass. Congrats to you also. Btw what did you use to get your Protein in?
voutman 15 Posted December 27, 2013 In the beginning it was alot of Protein shakes but as time when on I puréed chicken and tuna added cheese! Ate a lot of refried Beans and string cheese....each week gets easier trust me! I also have to eat gluten free so it made my diet that much harder

voutman 15 Posted December 27, 2013 No problem! That's what we are here for! I might add the cottage cheese, yogurt and fish are great sources of protein!
Andrew0929 1,101 Posted December 27, 2013 I'm 17 days out and introduced Peanut Butter a few days ago. My surgeon wants me on cottage cheese, yogurt, and scrambled eggs for another week, but I've done so well with those I didn't think creamy Peanut Butter would hurt and in fact my stomach has done very well with it. Fluffnomore 1,235 Posted December 27, 2013 I've been making a "peanut butter cookie" cream of wheat and/or steel cut oatmeal for myself and my kids. Tablespoon of PB2 powder, and some equal brown sugar (or whatever that stuff is, the one that isn't straight brown sugar.) A little butter or cream on top. It's great for those days that you want a little something carby in your belly in the morning and the PB2 adds to the Protein a little without adding a lot of extra. When you're in full liquids you can also add it to shakes. Great taste. 1 Arts137 reacted to this
No game 14,437 Posted December 27, 2013 I love Peanut Butter but I have no idea if it's OK to have right now. I like getting just a spoonful as a snack but I'm afraid to eat it right now. Any ideas or suggestions? It is not "ok" you are only a few days out.. I would go into all the reasons but really If you look at your guidelines I'm sure you will not see it on the approved list. 1 endless80 reacted to this
VSG AJH 499 Posted December 27, 2013 Have you tried PB2? It's a dry Peanut Butter powder. Add a scoop or two to a vanilla Protein Shake, and handle that craving in a safe way. 1 prnces228 reacted to this
