Hi Folks,

Well, I am stuck at the 24 pounds lost after 9 weeks post op. However, I must say I am not counting calories. I stopped smoking and was prepared to put on a few pounds, so I am not gonna beat myself up for NOT loosing any weight in the past 3 weeks. I decided to pay a healthy one time fee to a local doctor so I can get my fills locally, since I am a Mexican Bandster. Maybe I will be less hungrier after June 5th. Good luck to everyone else!!!!!

You are doing fantastic! Lap BAnd is slower. I know because I was banded in late Oct and to date (May) I have only lost 50 pounds. But you know what? I feel better, I look better and I have gone from a size 22-to a 16 sometimes 18. It might take a bit longer. but it will happen. Keep doing what you are doing. I have 50 more pounds to go, and I know that I will get there. and you will too.

Im getting banded in 2 weeks... Now when I am very hungry and I eat a nice meal , I hit that point that I feel completly satisfied and not driven to eat more, will I still get that satisfied feeling with the band or do you still feel unsatisfied even though you are full?

full of questions and hopefullness in GA.

Hi Transam1955

I too am from Dalton. I used Dr. Jamie Ponce at Hamilton Med. Center. I work there and have insurance. The insurance only paid 80% and I had to pay cash the day of surgery. Lucky that I had a mature CD I cashed in.

I had my surgery on 5-9-07 and have lost 15 lbs as far as I know. I need to go weigh tomorrow to see. I feel like I've lost more. I'll see.

I would love to hear more from you. We have a support group that meets once a month. You are welcome to come. I've only been to one meeting and learn quite a bit that evening. Let me know if you're interested and I'll send you more details. We are meeting next week.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
