TRANAM1955 1 Posted September 6, 2007 HI Folks, I don't post much....banded March 20 and have lost 44 pounds. Kinda' slow, but stopped smoking in May and I know it slowed down my efforts. Stress is still an issue - no comfort food, no smoking, no drinking, etc....I have to say I am not committed enough to counting calories and I need to do that!!! Give me a little kick in the butt!! I use Dr. Rose at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga as my fill doctor. Pricey, but he does use a fluro every time. I have had 2 fills and it has been a little hard getting used to the 2nd fill. My stoma gets irritated easy, but eating soft foods are not conducive to loosing weight. So, I am trying to get an attitude adjustment and get serious. Thanks!! Trana, I haven't had my 1st fill yet but what is fluro? Also what are you implying about soft foods not being condusive to weight loss? Is it because of the lack of Protein? I still think 44 lbs is a lot as I was banking on losing 50 at the 6 month mark and 100 by my anniversary. Rumar

nana2eight 0 Posted September 16, 2007 Dr Burnette did my surgery at Palmyra Hospital in Albany. Having lots of gas pains in left shoulder area but other that doing great. Not hungry at all and am obeying drs orders on drinking liquids. My port is above my left breast and the area is a little tender but not bad. I live in Valdosta, GA. Dr Burnette is scheduled to start doing lap bands in Valdosta next month but I didn't want to wait. Patsy

PCracker 0 Posted September 27, 2007 Hi I am up in North Georgia Mountains & was banded on 9/4 doing great, lost 35 pounds since June getting ready to be banded. I have lost 50 pounds since Jan when I attended my first lapband seminar. I go to Gainesville, Dr Roberts and he was great. I love being banded, it is working extremely well for me. I live in a very small town near Blairsville, Ga. Anyone else up here. P
Sandy63 0 Posted September 28, 2007 Hello all, I am from Dahlonega, I am still waiting for a surgery date. I have had the psychological evaluation and for the strangest reason, my score was invalid! I have to take the thing over! I'm scheduled to do that Oct. 1st and my sleep study on Oct. 4th. Maybe it won't take too long to get the surgery after that. Insurance is paying 100%! I've had foot surgery this year and all my deductibles and out of pockets have been met. Good luck to all ya'll!!
Michmoze 0 Posted September 28, 2007 I live in Monticello, GA and haven't been banded yet but I have scheduled seminars w/ a Dr. McKernan (spell ??) I think he's in Woodstock, and Dr. Lin and w/ Dr. Dennis Smith. Want to hear all the info I can and hope insurance will pay but if not, will find another way!! Good to hear from others in GA! pattychat 0 Posted October 3, 2007 Has this happened to anyone else. My surgery was all set. Pre-op is tomorrow. Dr. Mejias office called THIS morning... ONE WEEK before surgery and said that my portion (the part insurance won't pay) is due before surgery. I had to cancel and they seemed to care less. Just said "ok". The end... my dreams dashed... Roxie1951 0 Posted October 3, 2007 Pattychat, Look for another Dr. I didn't have to pay anything out of pocket prior to surgery. I had Dr. Lin from Emory.
