I haven't lost any weight since leaving the hospital! None! What's going on?

If I remember right my real weight loss didn't start to kick in until I was on solids. I think metabolisms have to be healed and normalized. Once you get things moving and your body heals it will get going. Remember, it's fat loss you want, not smaller numbers on a scale. Inches lost trumps weight loss.

Are you tracking everything you eat? Are you measuring? Getting in the prescribed amount of Protein and Water in-take?

Some people are slow losers which isn't a bad thing at all.

I'd prefer to lose inches than weight (luckily right now it's both) but I agree with Gmanbat--inches definitely trump the scale.

I weigh ny food but suck when it comes to my liquid intake. I lost 13 pounds during my 2 week pre op diet and only lost 9 after surgery. I thought i would if been down 20 pounds after surgery by now.

My NUT told me, it is paramount to get your Water in because it helps breakdown the fat cells and shed the weight. I've made it so that I put liquid Protein in my Water, so I kill two birds with one stone.

Try to sip it all day long..and only stop when the required time before and after your meals.

It works for me. I start as soon as I wake up and sip all day..before you know it, you're over 64 oz.

Good Luck. If all else fails, call your doctor's office and asked to see the NUT, they may have some suggestions to get you moving. From what I've read here, for some, it just takes longer and then it starts to come off quickly.

it's normal i think - you have a ton of Water weight from the iv's you've been hooked up to. i remember being weighed before surgery then weighing myself when i got home and i was really upset. your body is going to be pretty swollen a little while after surgery so it's going to take a little bit of time for that to come off, and when it does, you will start to see the numbers getting lower and lower. also, not to be too gross, but once you start having regular bowel movements that will help too. i know i drop a little bit of weight after i go lol

My Dr didn't give me very many post instructions. I'm on well chewed solids. I can eat almost anything. Still not losing any weight.

It's been a month, you'd think my hospital Water weight would be gone.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
