MistyfortheMountain 119 Posted December 27, 2013 I feel like I'm ready. I've been reading the forum and feel like I have a good idea of what to expect. I bought a heating pad and gas-x strips. I even have 2 quarts of won ton broth in the fridge. So why am I so nervous? This is the second surgery I've ever had. The first was a tubaligation (sp?), so not a big deal. I guess if the EKG or blood work came back saying I wouldn't survive the anesthesia, they would have let me know. I am just nervous. About both the surgery and the first week after. I just want to wake up and be feeling good and in the mushy stage.< /p> 6 2muchfun, chasingadream, kll724 and 3 others reacted to this

kll724 3,055 Posted December 27, 2013 Best wishes! The lapband was my 3rd major surgery. I think it was probably the easiest, as I was most prepared. the other 2 surgeries were almost emergencies, so no preperation for either of them. With your mind and body ready, you will do great. You will be starting the New Year with a new you coming on! Woohoo! Keep us informed of your progress. LI Lady 64 Posted December 28, 2013 Hope you are doing well. I had surgery yesterday and came home today. The best advice I have read here is walk, walk, walk and sip, sip, sip! Good luck!!! 2 Bandista and lthueme reacted to this
MistyfortheMountain 119 Posted December 28, 2013 Hey guys! Thank you so much for the words of encouragement. I made it to the other side! Whew, it is painful over here. LOL Doing my walking and sipping and I do feel better this morning than I did yesterday when I got home. Yesterday pain was in my back and chest, air I assume. Today I still have that pain but it is lessened and I actually have pain in my stomach. Like when you are super hungry. I can hear my stomach gurgling and I have hiccupped twice. Ouch! I hope this stage goes away soon! Oh, and I have no voice! 6 Ladybandito, chasingadream, divadreams and 3 others reacted to this

BandedBrunette481 310 Posted December 29, 2013 Hi Misty! I just came across your post. I'm new to the site so I'm just looking around, trying to get into the forums. Your story seems a little bit like mine! I started my journey with a seminar in November and my insurance company had no waiting period either so I'm just trying to get my surgery date now. It's exciting to think that I could be where you are now in just a few short months!! Glad your surgery went well, best wishes for a speedy recovery 6 kll724, divadreams, chasingadream and 3 others reacted to this

LI Lady 64 Posted December 30, 2013 Hi Misty! I was banded on the 26th and today I woke up with minimal pain. It is amazing to me how much better I feel each day. All I have been doing is laying on the couch or in bed and sipping Water every 5 minutes. About every hour or two, I get up and walk around the house. I am trying to follow the doctor's orders to the letter for a quick and easy recovery. Good luck!! 5 chasingadream, Bandista, divadreams and 2 others reacted to this

Rojasanoll 920 Posted December 30, 2013 healing everyday and feeling a tad better I hope. It takes time and a bit of getting used to. Soon the liquids will start tasting good to you. Add some spices to the clear broth for additional flavors. Best wishes and Keep the Faith. 2 chasingadream and MistyfortheMountain reacted to this
