ualaw08 270 Posted December 26, 2013 Hello I am one week one post op today. Been feeling really well these past couple of days. No real pain. Sitting up all day and walking around. No naps. Able to hold liquids etc. However I woke up this morning to my menstrual cycle after not having one for six months. My GYN said it stopped probably due to my weight. Is it possible that this surgery could have already triggered a my monthly cycle? I don't know how much I has lost as I don't have a scale yet. I go for my follow up appt tomorrow and will find out. My husband keeps telling me it looks like I has lost 15-20 pounds. Anyone else experience this?
pjackson0523 158 Posted December 26, 2013 Yes Ma'am, I did the exact same thing. Not only did I get one after NOT having one for four months, but, it was the worse one I had in years. It was awful. The cramps were unbelievable. I called my nurse and she said yes, anesthesia can do that.
moonlitestarbrite 902 Posted December 26, 2013 me too! it wasnt horrible, but it was really weird not like i have been having for years. then the next 3 cycles it was clear i was probably, at 47, having fertile cycles again. way less estrogen and more progesterone in my body due to less body fat. yeah, everything is going to change. everything. Gelica 18 Posted December 27, 2013 Yep I got mine a week after surgery as well after not having one in a year, and now today woke up to second cycle 28 days later, this morning. I didn't mark the calendar so the cramps two days before I thought was Constipation guess it was my cycle. Have to say the cramps are horrible.
ualaw08 270 Posted December 28, 2013 Thanks everyone for the replies. I am so used to not having a period it is pretty strange to have one now. But I guess that's just part of it!
