Thanks everyone. I've been "falling off the wagon" so to speak lately. Too much stuff that goes right through the band...egg nog, etc. Anyway, I am getting back on the eliptical and watching it come new years. I was watching a show on MTV the other day about obesity and gastric bypass. Anyway, there was a girl that was getting ready for her surgery and they showed her on a forum like this on her computer. It was so good to actually see her getting inspired by our sucess stories. I hope I am able to inspire some people pre surgery. The only thing that bothered me about the show is that some of the attitudes were that as soon as they got surgery they would magically lose the weight. I wish they knew it doesn't work that way. It takes work and alot of exercise to really achieve results. Even if you can't really exercise...you gotta do a little walking or something. Like my hubby always says, you gotta get in shape to get in shape.

You look fantastic... great bod! :whoo: I think it's great that people are able to use this tool with exercise to get their bodies back to firm. I am 52 yo so it's going to be harder for me to have that kind of body again. I'm working on it though.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
