mistysj 1,940 Posted December 25, 2013 I'm in Australia and I can't get all the great low-cal low-carb high-Protein shakes you guys in the US have, like Premier Protein. Even Syntrax nectar costs me twice what it costs you guys. There are just a few options that are relatively high quality. Optifast VLCD have 17 grams of Protein for 152 calories. Musashi has one variety that has 25 grams for 113 cals and one that has 30 grams for 171 (closest I can find to Premier but not RTD). I haven't tried it yet but probably will when my Optifast runs out. There is another brand here called CelebritySlim. They taste great but are comparatively low-protein and high-carb. They also have other things like tea tree oil that I find fishy. Short of racking up big import costs, I think maybe my best bet is buying pure unflavored WPI (I can get it here) and making up my own shake recipes. I'd ideally like to stay around the 30 grams mark and have 170 or less calories. Most of the homemade shake recipes I see online are more like 300-500 calories. Has anyone tried this? How did it come out?
mistysj 1,940 Posted December 27, 2013 Nobody? Oh well. I picked up a small jar of the Musashi with the 30g Protein and 170 calories and it tastes fine to me if a bit thin. I will probably just stick to it and try to jazz it up with flavors or adding fruit sometimes.
Peanutz53 9 Posted January 8, 2014 I am using non fat greek yogurt and adding frozen fruit, about 25 g per cup. 2 pquinn181 and mistysj reacted to this
britt2415 17 Posted January 8, 2014 You can also add the fat free sugar free pudding mix to the shakes and they taste good! They have quite a few flavors!! 1 longroad34 reacted to this

be4unoit 27 Posted November 27, 2016 I love anything tart over sweet so I want to make this: https://dashingdish.com/recipe/key-lime-pie-protein-shake/ I'd leave out the Stevia so it's more tart.
