2 weeks out and gaining all the time!

Omg. I would be angry too! I have stalled just the past two days, but a gain eek!

Is it your TOM? I'd call you NUT and review your diet with them. Good luck!

Are you eating stuff high in sodium? Could it be Fluid? I'm a bit over a week out. I haven't lost the past two days. A little concerned. Be sure you aren't drinking your calories. Easy to do with high fat cream based Soups.

I am having Soup that might be high in salt?? Why would that make me gain?? I'm still only have bout 400 calories a day!?!?

it can cause you to retain Fluid. Water weighs a lot. I can gain and lose 4-5 pounds a day in fluid. It's not fat weight. But two cups of water weighs about a pound.

The less fluids you are getting in, the more your body holds on to it. If you are also having high sodium stuff, that will make it more so.

What are you eating? Have you tried seeing how many calories you are getting in? You can drink your alories really easily if you aren't careful.

I'm only drinking water! I might have a cup of Soup over the course of a day!! I'm really nowhere near over my calories!! It's nuts! It was falling off and now everyday I'm heavier

How are your clothes fitting? If they are getting looser, I wouldn't worry about the scale. Fluid will really mess with you. If they are in fact getting tighter, you may need to contact your nutritionist and/or surgeon.

Really try to inclrease your Water intake though. You may well see a difference.

It's pretty normal for your weight to fluctuate around the first few weeks. You've had an overall loss, yes? If it's 11 pounds in two weeks that is nothing to sneeze at!

As long as you don't have any other "bad" symptoms: fever, dizziness, lethargic-ness, etc…you might check in with the NUT. If those exist I might call the doctor. But your body is plenty confused right now, for sure.

You might want to check with your nutritionist about INCREASING your calories, you might be in starvation mode and need a jump start.

Follow your surgical team's plan. Do a search in these forums for "three week stall" and realize that the first month is not about weight loss but about your body healing. If you look at two months out nobody is still stalled and everyone loses significant weight. This is not the time to start changing your diet. This is time to follow the instructions and stop weighing yourself more than once a week.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
