So this has probably been asked before but I can't find it. I'm almost 7 months out and doing awesome.... Except I have now been on my period constantly for over 2 weeks with no signs of stopping :( my doctor said it's most likely from the fat reasing all if the estrogen... But how can I stop it??? This is making me crazy!!!! AND totally emotional! Grrrrr!

Hi - I am not sure I have a right to post this since I am so new, but I did want to say that previously when I was on a restricted calorie/low carb plan I too experienced menstrual bleeding for about a solid month. My OB and the diet clinic workers weren't too helpful on this, but my Aunt who is a hospice nurse said that (as you stated) the fat cells themselves store up estrogen and as they diminish the estrogen then flows freely, causing the non-stop menstrual bleeding. Mine DID stop...eventually. Just be patient, be prepared at all times and give your body the gift of allowing it to regulate itself.

Have you talked to your GYN about hormone therapy, birth control pills, IUD to help regulate you? This is something that is very common to a lot of us. Some get relief some don't. Hopefully you can find something that works.

This is only my opinion, but if you can avoid synthetic hormones I definitely would! I used Seasonique for 3-4 years. I took them back to back and never had periods which my OB said was fine since I wasn't planning on any more children but let me tell you...getting off of those things and getting back to normal was absolute hell. It took months and the emotional turmoil I experienced greatly overshadowed any discomfort or annoyance with the actual menstrual bleeding. I originally got on the pill to prevent pregnancy but also because I was diagnosed with PMDD. Amazingly now that I am off of those pills and my body has regulated itself I don't have the extreme PMDD symptoms. Of course I get a little fatigued and a little moody (or maybe a lot if my husband we're allowed to chime in) but today's fatigue and moodiness don't even compare to the levels I was at when diagnosed with PMDD. In retrospect, I think a lot of it was probably due to poor diet and bad habits. I know I'm rambling on now...but again...if you can find a natural solution, or one that doesn't involve synthetic hormones I think that'd be the way to go.

Ive had the same problem. I'm 7 months out and have been having issues for most of that time. Periods twice as long and heavy as normal, with spotting in between. Ive had two biopsies which have shown no problems besides the elevated estrogen levels. Did a 30 day round of progesterone to try and level it out and it didn't help. Right now im having to keep a menstrual diary for my doctor (yes theres an app for that) and she'll use that to determine the next course of action, which will probably be a d and c. Definitely discuss this with your doctor and start seeing what your options are. Also wouldnt hurt to start documenting it with something like the app I use, My Menstrual Diary, which allows you to document how often as well as what kind of flow so your doctor can see if you're having mostly spotting or mostly heavy flow. Weve also talked about me going back on the pill to control it, but not sure if that will work since the progesterone didn't help. Good luck.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
