I know how you feel! I am 6 days postop. This last week has been really hard. I had a little of a rougher time than most other people seem to have with the surgery. I've had a lot of pain from the gas and generally have felt very uncomfortable. I did clears for two days then full liquid up till now. I am soooo bored with the things I am able to eat. I was allowed during this time to have no chunks yogurt and sugar free pudding. Also, the last couple of days I went to Jasons deli and got a couple of Soups and just didn't eat anything chunky out of them. And, I have been super hungry at times.

Tomorrow I start the blenderized (puree) part of my diet. I can have some more things. I'm excited.

Just keep focused on why the doctors want you to slowly progress your diet. A big cup of warmth beef broth helped me feel full many times. You can do it!

I'm 8 days post op. I figured out to take a can of creamed chicken Soup. Make it on the stove. Add one whole can of canned chicken. Then let cool. Then I purée that in the blender. It eats like a full meal. Very full, and full of Protein. I don't eat the entire amount. Eat on it through out the day. I was starving the first 5 days on Clear Liquids. Thought I was going to die! So much happier now! I also take regular Soups with chunks and purée them. Quite good. Also, google Egg Drop soup recipes on the Internet so easy and a great satisfying meal.

My blender is my very best friend right now! I will also take chicken, chicken broth, all kinds of cooked veggies and throw it in the blender. Yummy. Need lots of broth though.

I'm at what they still call the full liquids phase. I'm allowed cream of ____ Soup, but I'm not at the pureed stage. I'm not sure if the extra chicken would count towards the pureed/blended phase or still with liquids. I'm getting bored and I really miss my crunch too! I'm a texture person and desperately want more than smooth bland stuff.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
