Goodbye last of the fat clothes

Recommended Posts

We all must have been doing the same thing over the holidays.. I have also finally gotten rid of the last of my too big clothes, the robe was the final piece. It was a crutch. I starting thinking that if I kept a wardrobe of bigger clothes I was kind of giving myself permission to gain, and I was prepared "Just in case". I finally decided screw it, if I gain enough to go up a size, then I deserve to Pay for it... literally. We all have our comfy clothes, that's differnt. A whole wardrobe bigger is my fat girl mentality. And I want to leave her back in 2013.

Happy New Year!!

At two years out I have a totally new wardrobe. I was a 16 and now anything bigger than a four is gone. It seemed like it took forever to get to 12 and 14 then it went very quickly. I have been pretty stable for the past six months and left no room for me to gain. I refuse to buy bigger clothes. The first batch was really hard, then it seemed I had a constant donate pile for a year. It feels good to buy clothes I can hopefully stay in forever. Even my feet are smaller.

I am so looking forward to these moments. I am down to wearing:

my last stretchy black dress ... bursting at the seams

my last stretchy work skirt... bulging at the waistband

my last pair of legging... hardly ever wear these as leggings are so unflattering

and precisely ZERO pairs of jean... as I just can't face wearing super tight jeans and I refuse to buy any more as over a certain size I don't wear jeans at all :(

Still nervously waiting preop for a date for my sleeve surgery.

Hit the thrift store girl... then give them back when you shrink out of them. No need to punish yourself at the last minute!

I just went through my closet again for like the 4th time... I still managed to find a black garbage bag worth of too big cloths to give away... I thought I had given them all up except two pairs of giant pants for the record!

I feel like the clothes have taken over...they will find me one day many years from now buried in an avalanche of clothing too big...time for a clean out I think...if you don't hear from me again I wish you all the best hahaha

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
