But to my surprise I had No pain at all,Took my first walk and threw up a little and was given a shot after that It's been smooth sailing I only felt like I had been doing sit ups' was and still is able to get all my Protein in and keep it down, the first week was Clear liquids, I mastered all of that. Now I'm on full liquids I ate tuna and keep it down, I ate mashed potatoes did great. I got in about 90 grams of Protein. I'm doing Isopure Preach Mango, two scoops 63 grams of protein. I am driving because my Dr. said I could as long as I was not on med's..Did I say Still "NO PAIN"

That's awesome, you clearly have a high pain threshold.

Carry on as you are, but be mindful that something happened inside you which was quite dramatic. Wouldn't want you attempt to run a marathon in week four and end up keeling over!

Glad you're feeling good though! Yay! :D

I was sleeved Dec. 19, and I haven't had any pain either! Sometimes I think my surgeon just stabbed me a few times just for show!

im about the same as you. No pain. Just kinda sore right after. Btw I was also the 16th! Have had no problem getting my protein and fluids in. My diet is progressing slower per my docs requirements. Very frustrating. But I'm hanging in. So far amazed at how physically easy it's been.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
