I've been eating the Pacific Organics boxed Soups. They're about $3/box, and they each have 4+ post-sleeve servings. My favorites are Cashew Carrot Ginger and Curried Lentil. Like you, I've been hungry since surgery, or at least I think in have been. I'll feel totally hungry, then have a little Soup and a pudding and/or a Jello. I'll totally feel satisfied, or even a little stuffed a time or two, then when I log my calories, I've only used 150-200. ;). Doc says I'll feel more restriction and "full" longer when I move to purée and soft -- TOMoRROW!!

I've been having reduced sodium Tomato Soup /w light goats milk cheese to get some Protein in. I sometimes will have the serving of Soup with skim milk to bump the Protein up. It does increase the calories, and it clocks in around 203 calories though for the whole serving. You might feel that is too high for you though. You could opt for just Water in the soup too. I am two weeks post op. I've also had reduced sodium cream of mushroom, and cream of asparagus Soups too (blended).

I stuck with cream of mushroom and cream of chicken Soup. A can of condensed soup is about 200 cals in total, but I wasn't eating but 1 can per day for my total caloric intake for at least the 1st two weeks. Frankensleeve wouldn't tolerate much else in any quantity. :-)

I'm one week post-op too and I've noticed two out of those days, I've been hungry still. Not head hunger, stomach growling serious hunger. I made up a huge batch of French onion Soup and then strained out the broth into 2oz. cups and have been eating on those, Jello, pudding, and refried Beans (Yummo!) Oh, and I bought the that ProtiDiet oatmeal and chicken noodle soup that has a TON of Protein. The hunger was much less on the day I had that oatmeal for Breakfast. I noticed one guy said he had been doing Tomato Soup but my surgeon and NUT said no Tomato soup due to the high acid. They said it was too much acid too soon on the new pouch. Everybody is different though. I'm down 12 pounds since the morning of surgery (19 lbs total including the 8 pounds I lost beforehand.)

How much are you eating at one time? I think I'm eating kinda a lot and I should measure things. I haven't eaten so much I've hurt yet. I'm just so paranoid this won't work for me even tho I've already lost 23 pounds. I think so much of this is mental.

Hello fellow sleeves! I'm 1 week post op and I'm down 13 lbs. I just started soft food. Refried Beans, cottage cheese, egg beaters . I can eat about 1/4 cup of refried beans and 1/4 cup of cottage cheese mixed and microwaved so that's about a half a cup of food and I don't finish the whole cup but that's about as much as I can eat. For me, it's like a new adventure every day. I also use MyFitnessPal so I can kind of calculator how many ounces of Protein I'm getting in a day. it's so important to get your Water intake in also. What an awesome journey that we are all on. Merry Christmas all!

I just picked up cream of shrimp, butternut squash bisque, cream of spinach, cream of mushroom, tortilla Soup base broth, Chinese hot and sour soup base broth, beef broth and chicken broth. Plan on adding unflavored Protein Powder to them. I wasn't too concerned with calories since I will be eating so little. Even my nut said not to worry about calories at this stage.

It's so strange that every doctor has a different diet. I am one week post op and I am on the "creamy" stage but he said creamy Soups only (besides Protein Shakes and clear broths). I see a lot of ppl get refried Beans and eggs, etc. Weird!!

Same here. I was on on Clear Liquids only for 3 days, then "full liquid" day 4-17 (basically it's OK if it can pass through a straw). Starting day 18 I move to "pureed" which is applesauce/pudding consistency. This is the stage I can add scrambled eggs, refried Beans, mashed potatoes and cottage cheese. Day 28 starts soft foods, including soft meats, canned fruits, and cooked, soft veggies. Day 40 is full solids. And with my surgeon's 0.01% complication rate I plan on sticking to it to a T.

One word of advice, the flavored infused broths may taste much better if you add half regular low sodium broth and have infused. The infusion can be a bit much on the saltiness, especially the hot/sour one which is awesome by the way! So is the tortilla one!

Thanks for the heads up, tami j. The cream Soups I got are condensed so I was planning on mixing unflavored Protein with Water separately and then mixing 1:1 with the Soup. Maybe I'll do something similar with the infused broths to cut the salty. Merry Christmas!

I'm on day 18, still belnded Soups, Protein drinks, drinkable yogurts, no lumps or bumps. Also now at a stall x 5 days ;-( and only 1 medicine forced stool. (sigh). Getting my 60gms of Protein and 64 Fluid ounces. Starting to get depressed.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
