LipstickLady 25,682 Posted December 24, 2013 I also have a tofu-chocolate pie recipe I want to try (I know, sounds disgusting right?) WIll report on it afterwards. Yum! If it's the one I make, it's like a chocolate chess pie! YUMMMMM...
tami j 277 Posted December 24, 2013 (edited) I'm going to make and have either your chicken a mushroom Soup or roasted butternut squash soup! I'm on full liquids still Edited December 24, 2013 by tami j
gamergirl 4,610 Posted December 25, 2013 Well this is what I had. Ham with maple orange glaze, sweet potatoes in orange cups (thanks Lynda!), asparagus with hollandaise, mushrooms with garlic butter, and a sliver of the best pumpkins pie with the flakiest crust I've ever had outside of a French bakery. My husband's creation of course. Below is my plate, I finished all the ham and mushrooms but left 1asparagus and most of the sweet potato. Too full. 2 dreamscometrue and NMJG reacted to this
gamergirl 4,610 Posted December 25, 2013 I'm going to make and have either your chicken a mushroom Soup or roasted butternut squash soup! I'm on full liquids still Oh the chicken mushroom is such a nice rich flavor! But if you do butternut, I'm sure that too would taste delicious with chicken. Enjoy! 1 tami j reacted to this
whodatgirl 58 Posted December 25, 2013 We had pear salad and grillades and grits for Christmas Eve dinner. I skipped the salad and had two small pieces of meat, a tiny piece of bread, and some grits. (I tried to avoid eating too much gravy.) I had about half of a chocolate chip cookie, but several glasses of wine. We're having eggs Benedict this morning, but I won't have the English muffin. I'll probably only have about a half of a Bloody Mary. (I find that they really fill me up quickly.) Tonight, we're having a standing rib roast, asparagus bundles, twice-baked potatoes, and a Buche de Noel. I'll be happy with just a small bite of the Yule log. Hope that's true of the potatoes too. Merry Christmas everyone! 1 gamergirl reacted to this
gamergirl 4,610 Posted December 25, 2013 We're having what my kids call "church waffles" which are waffles my husband makes on weekends. Fanny farmer recipe, lightest, best waffles I've ever had, with a sourdough batter. But I will be making banana Protein pancakes for my husband and me, maybe try them in the waffle Iron to see how they cook in there. 1 tami j reacted to this
mistysj 1,940 Posted December 25, 2013 Christmas in Australia is a lot different, because it's in the middle of summer and it's bloody hot! We had Christmas lunch with one side of the family today, and we are having Boxing Day dinner tomorrow with the other (closer) part. Christmas lunch: Lots of chilled Chardonnay and champagne. I didn't drink any because we had afternoon drinkies planned with our neighbors. Boiled, chilled prawns (very traditional, we bring these) Seafood salad Beetroot salad Cold sliced ham Crackers, pate, cheeses, dips, hummus Homemade brioche rolls (my husband makes these, I had about 1/3 of one) Roast turkey, served cold There must have been other stuff but I didn't have it Desserts: trifle (with a tin of white rum in) or mini Christmas puddings. I had about 1/3 cup of trifle. Boxing Day dinner: Baked ham (brought by us) Butternut pumpkin (squash) casserole (baked by me, the sweet kind with nuts and brown sugar on top. I will add an extra egg for Protein -- request of DH's dad) Banana bread (made by DH. Half the bunch of bananas off our tree went ripe at once so we have to do something) Whatever DH's dad's Aussie wife decides to cook. Hopefully some vegetables. Sometimes her cooking is amazing and other times it's shocking. (DH and his dad are Canadian, it is a late-in-life marriage.) 1 tami j reacted to this
Fluffnomore 1,235 Posted December 25, 2013 I have decided I am not going to drive myself crazy with tracking today. I won't go nuts either, but I planned a menu that I can eat, and I'm going to enjoy it. Hope you all have a wonderful holiday (those of you who Celebrate it!) And the rest of you, please enjoy the movies!
newat52 1,613 Posted December 25, 2013 My side of the family is Italian and we are going to my sisters house so traditionally it is at least 7 different fish dishes. Everything from lobster, shrimp, calamari, clams, mussells and more delicious and healthy in small portions of course. I'll be over at 2!
magtart 603 Posted December 25, 2013 If I had not just had surgery we would be having Prime Rib, Yorkshire pudding, creamed spinach, glazed carrots, and French Silk Pie for dessert.
Kindle 8,667 Posted December 26, 2013 (edited) I'm going to make and have either your chicken a mushroom Soup or roasted butternut squash soup! I'm on full liquids still Ditto on the liquids stage....I had several slugs of drinkable yogurt and a chocolate Protein Drink (instead of traditional eggs Benedict) for Breakfast, butternut squash bisque (instead of prime rib and fixings) for dinner, strained French onion soup as a snack, and vanilla PB2 shake (instead of Danish Kringler) for desert. Fluffnomore 1,235 Posted December 26, 2013 Hm. Guess I'm a better planner than I thought, and I'd better stick with the planning. So, like I said I decided to try a day without tracking, and with eating with the family. That was the nice part. It really wasn't too out of control, although I did have a small slice of the sour cream coffee cake I make every year, with bacon (breakfast of champions! really out-of-shape, chubby champions!) We did little apps for lunch (stuffed mushrooms, bacon wrapped dates.) But not measuring out dinner turned out to be a bad idea. My slice of beef tenderloin was probably too big. With that, a couple of teaspoons of spinach and a couple of teaspoons of potato I was uncomfortably full. Fell asleep on the couch for a while. Drank some milk an hour later to "settle" things. (Why do I still think like I am not sleeved? Really, now.) And then I saw that again. First time I have thrown up anything and I was alarmed that it just popped right back out, pretty much. No pie for me. I saw the light. Anyway, save for actually really sitting down with everyone that was an experiment whose time has not yet come. Back to the net diary, back to consistent tracking. And maybe back to very light eating today, just to be on the safe side. I swear I learn something new every day. 1 dreamscometrue reacted to this
Roo101769 742 Posted December 26, 2013 I made chicken cordon blue casserole ( recipe off of this site!) and mashed cauliflower. I also had loaded mashed potatoes for those non healthy eaters. My cauliflower was a little to garlicky, and I really like garlic. But the casserole was VERY good! I made taco cupcakes Tuesday and really enjoyed them. ( in cupcake tin with ground turkey and wonton wrappers) Christmas Breakfast was egg muffins, another recipe from here!

I have restrained myself from doing it but the kid thinking persists. I think even the days we do t track, we may still have to measure. Weird eh?

We've made that at least twice and we love it! For us the key was to use the kitchen aid to shred the chicken really fine and it went down so easy. I also tried it with bottled light Alfredo sauce. Not too bad but of course not as good as homemade white sauce. Did you have trouble with the wonton wrappers? I tried the taco cupcakes and the wrappers went think so badly I haven't tried them again.
