Partnership HEALTH PLAN Insurance

Recommended Posts

@@shaylady08 that's why I try to make sure I respond to everyone that has questtions in this post so people on this insurance know that it's possible. Because of course Partnership don't simply put it out there that bariatric surgery is covered. It just has to be medically necessary for them to cover it.

Hello all!

I was just wondering if anybody else had an issue trying to get healthy steps to talk to you in anyway? I did my seminar with them on July 30, 2016 so this year. I was told in that it would take anywhere from 2 to 3 weeks to get all of your paperwork taken care of. I called in the middle of August I was told that they are processing the paperwork from that day and that they should be calling me shortly. I called them again in the middle of September and left a message and never heard anything back. I was just wondering if anybody else had this type of experience with healthy steps in Santa Rosa?

@@Blondbrnsugar I've never had an issue. I was always in contact with Veronica. But I learned to never leave a message as their voice-mail system has always been messed up so I call back a little later if I ever got the voice-mail

@Tygrss888 yes all of them require you to lose about 10% of your starting weight. I am still going through my stuff. 15 lbs down!! A half way to my 10%.
But it is about 3-4 "dr appointments" before the surgery . I say " dr appointments" because you'll be meeting with nutritionist, trainers, nurses and various other doctors i.e. gastroenterologist cardiologist etc.
And it's not really partnership that requires you lose weight it's the surgeon.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
