Shopping list for the hospital etc.

I didnt notice anyone else mention this but bring a pillow from home. Its nice to have a fluffy pillow for the hospital stay and its priceless for the ride home. I hugged mine for the full 1 hour ride home. It helps when the driver hits bumps, potholes, fast turns. It keeps your belly from jiggling. Makes the ride alot more comfortable.

I mentioned it a bit back and i think Fluffnomore may have also. My doctor's office said to make sure the pillowcase is not white to avoid it getting mixed with the hospital linens. I used my pillow in the hospital to sleep on and on the way home as a buffer between the seatbelt and my incisions. It was a big help.

Ok so even with a 2 week diet I may be able to be squeezed in, in January. ..right? We r just waiting on the NUT report. I am very very VERY impatient! I wished I knew the final answer and had a date in mind. The waiting is driving be bonkers!

Anyone else in the same boat?

I was sooooo inpatient then I called his office multiple times a day. I did have a date though on the day I went for my consultation. I bothered them so much making sure they have everything that I am sure they can't wait to get rid of me haha

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
