Whine. whine. I hate full liquids. I want substance! And this constant feeling like I need to let out a legendary burp? It's driving me nuts! There. lol. Just wanted to let ya'll know.

Leepers you are not alone!! My surgery was 12/16. I want texture back in my food. My doc wants 2 week post op liquid and then 2 weeks of mush. I miss my texture so terribly I'm not sure if I can wait that long. You're not alone. Thanks for venting as it reminds me that I'm not alone. :)

I have two days of clear liquid, 5 days of full liquid, one week of "blenderized" (nice way to say puree), and then two weeks of mushies. We cam do it. We can get through. Just think of how good healthy food will taste!

I'm right there with you on the "legendary burp". It felt like an alien was trying to burst out of my chest for the 1st week post-op. :-) Fortunately/unfortunately, my 1st week post-op, I was in so much pain that I didn't even want to think about eating.

I love that you named it Frankensleeve! I was actually considering naming my band Brunhilde. Then I could talk about her. Like, "Uh oh, Brunhilde is pissed off today." Love it.

My surgeon put a hand-written note on my list for the full liquid phase, "egg drop soup." I made that and it was delicious. Also I really liked broth with ginger, garlic and Tamari in it -- something salty and savory. Potato leek Soup was very satisfying. There's a brand called Imagine that comes in cartons ----where I live it's in the natural foods section of the regular grocery store. Best wishes. You will get to a place where you are not feeling deprived.

Bandista! I was checking out your ticker. You are over 1/4 of the way to your goal. Awesome! Now just do what you've been doing, three more times!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
