Oh no noooooooooooooooo coffee, next your gonna tell me no sex!

I had Decaf coffee and sex today. Counted one as liquids and the other as exercise, and my sleeve is a-ok. :)

Bahahaha Awesome!!!

Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on why we cannot have coffee after being sleeved?

I could have Decaf coffee but not regular unless I had gotten in my 64 oz of water! It was Hard to switch before surgery but don't miss it at all now . Caffeine is a diuretic.

I love love love coffee. It it did cause my heart burn and reflux to be worse.

I'm on the Decaf now and after reading that study above...I'm ok with that.

I was told coffee was fine. In fact, I had a coffee before I left the hospital. It was a small one, and went cold before I could finish it, but it was coffee!

New studies have found that drinking coffee in moderation does not lead to dehydration, that it beneficial for endurance and performance in exercise, and the mild diuretic effect of caffeine is not strong enough to counter-balance the benefits of Fluid intake from coffee consumption. So, a cup of coffee a day can be counted towards your Fluid intake. Yay for coffee!

But, yanno, do what your surgeon recommends........

When I started my pre-op diet I mentioned how I missed my "hi-test" coffee. My doctor gave me the ok to have caffeinated coffee. So, along with my Protein Shake I had my coffee with 2 TBSP of half and half. I have to have my morning coffee. I have a nightshirt that says "give me my coffee. and nobody gets hurt" lol. Still enjoying my coffee. Banded on 12/28/12, down 80 lbs. 60 more to goal!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
