The danger with sea food is intoxication! If your piza was fresh and you chewed very well every piece you should be ok, the fhing is that it does not ofer good nutricion and you need to look for food that suports your nutricion, relax keep ahead an dont worrie, every body cheats some once in a while

I'm 2 weeks out, and found this topic fascinating. I'm on puree/soft. I can't imagine wanting/eating pizza (even the toppings) at this point.

I pureed the clams/potatoes in my chowder and threw it back in the broth and loved it. Of course it made 4 meals. LOL. Then I had a piece of broiled schrod. Been eating that in 2 ounce meals. No one said no seafood, and it's settled just fine. I have 1/2 a scrambled egg. I still have a shake (or two) a day. I'm waiting for some clear Protein drinks I ordered to show up so that I can have a hope of getting all the Protein in.

Back to the forum, it's an interesting exchange of ideas. The op asked for advice, and the others offered it. Don't have to agree with it, or follow it. We're all adults here. Folks are offering suggestions, doesn't mean you have to follow it, or even take offense at it. It's someone's opinion, and we are all entitled to them. Enough said.

We're all fighting a common enemy here, ourselves and our food additions. May we all emerge victorious no matter what path we follow.

i believe in all my fellow sleevers et al, think you say things in a helpful/supportive way

i go along/believe in tough love too

but, i can't help but find my above post (#7) posted a little humerous after reading some of the other posts

hope i said that right

no one jump on me ok, you know i love you all and you are my BFF's!!! ;)

I'm a month out and the NUT says so many bad things bread will do, well, make you feel bad I'm scared to eat it. I tried a triscuit the other day and had no ill effects. But rice, Pasta, sliced bread, boy do I miss those.

Thank you proudgranny. I believe you have summed things up perfectly and I appreciate your calming words of wisdom.

I know I deserved a slap on the hand for the pizza and boy is my lesson learned!!! It's a tough crowd here and perhaps my sensitive nature got the best of me. My friends have always told me I wear my heart on my sleeve and in doing that, I'm often hurt by harsh words even if they are meant to help. Sometimes the intent of a post is lost when judgement is passed.

To those who voiced their opinion, thank you. The pizza was a slip-up and I am 100% back on track since it happened Friday.

New close this out, I'd like to end on a very happy note with some pictures I took today. The first photo was taken five weeks ago at my highest, 317. Today I weigh 283 and was just tickled pink by my progress. I hadn't noticed a difference in myself until I put on that same sweater and noticed how differently it felt and looked.

God bless you all. Have a lovely night!

I must be in the minority here but I certainly plan on having a piece of pizza at some point. I'm only a week post-op so it won't be for a while but I don't see anything wrong with eating a piece of pizza now and again. I just won't eat 6 or 8 pieces like I used to.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
