Hey ladies!

Thanks for the info Kathy! I'm gonna look online for those spencos.

I love the Swiss cheese laughing cow wedges. The garlic and herb one didn't taste too good to me. I found some low fat/carb whole wheat crackers I eat with them.

Went back to work last week, and It went pretty well! I ate every 3-4 hours. Took too much food though haha. My coworkers asked me so many questions and were very welcoming!!!

I start regular foods on Tuesday! Can't wait to weigh tomorrow! Ttyl.

I feel human almost! Went out to eat last night to bonefish grill thought I'd have a crab cake hated it! I've always loved them in the past. Gave them it hubby and had a some of his tilapia. I really need to learn how to make fish. I'm too chicken to try lol.

Went to the movies and had a little popcorn. I really felt normal even though I had such a small amount.

Hello again ladies.

My doctor is pretty strict and I can only have 3 meals a day, no Snacks, no carbs. What helps me at night is to eat two of the sugar free popsicles. It's something you can bite into and chew and counts as a liquid like it did during our "liquids only" days. I particularly like the tropical flavored ones.

I went out to eat for the first time last night. I ordered beef with carrots. The beef was so tender and flavorful...it was the first thing I've had that I didn't have to cook myself. The carrots ended up being a few shreds like you would find in a salad, so that wasn't much. I was only able to eat 1/4 cup, so I took 3/4 of it home with me.

But I do hate to spent a bunch of money on a meal and only barely touch it. I did ask to see the kids menu, but there was nothing on there but fried food and carbs.

I think learning to eat out and not spend a ton will be an acquired tactic!!!

Thanks for the well wishes! I'm much better now.

Congrats to all the "losers", lol. I weighed in at my first group support meeting this week, and I'm down 43 pounds total, which is 24 pounds since surgery. I'm "this close" to zipping up another size down in jeans. What a great feeling!

My daughter is working full time now, so I'm babysitting more hours. Makes it hard to get in here to post. But I'll pop in when I can.

I hope you're all having a good weekend!

I am down 19 pounds since surgery, 24 since pre-Surg diet. The past few days, I find that my appetite and stomach capacity have started to creep up. Foods that I could not eat post-op are starting to be okay. Yesterday I had a small nibble of my friend's b-day cake. I tracked it, sure, and was within my goals for the day but ... Feeling a bit more normal, whether that is a good thing or not. Very glad of Fitnesspal right now as it holds me accountable!

Jane, I'm glad you are feeling better...babysitting will sure keep you active.

I know what you mean about those jeans. I tried on a pair from my closet today and I'm still too big for them, but soon, very, very soon!!!

It sounds like everyone is doing well - congrats to all of us.

Hello all,

Jane glad you're better! :-)

Went to my 6 week checkup on Friday. Down 21 lbs since surgery. Was able to get off all of meds except Vitamins, of course. Nurse talked to me about 2 types of victories: loss of pounds and loss of inches. Some ppl don't count that but it's just as important as the scale. She told me to stop weighing myself. She also told me instead of having a weight loss goal (which she felt was very achievable, instead have a size goal). She also said that I need to get in at least 80g of protein- that 60g is the minimum amount I should be getting. We had a very lengthy chat. I'm feeling better about what I've accomplished so far and what I can accomplish in the future!!! :-)

Hope everyone have a great week!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
