No restrictions to walking or cardio - just can't lift weights (no more than 10 lbs) until 6 weeks post op!

Question for anyone who is on their 3rd week of liquids only like me....are you still very weak? If you are allowed soft foods already, you won't have the same reactions. Just taking a shower and getting dressed gets me shakey. I was supposed to go back to work today, but took a couple more days because of how I feel.

Hazel when can you start your next phase? I'm technically still on full liquids but I had puréed Soup once... Went down fine. I didn't experience any weakness or anything on liquids though.

I can start pureed foods next Sunday. Maybe the weakness has to do with the fact that I had 2 days of pretty bad diarrhea last Friday and Saturday. I couldn't even drink anything without it going right through me. Doc told me to take a probiotic and use some benefiber and that did the trick. I tried a little yogurt yesterday, like 2 TBSP. and it didn't set well in my stomach. I hope I haven't developed a problem with milk products.

Oh I'd cry if I couldn't have dairy!

Hazel, Are you getting enough Protein in? I'm sorry your so weak!

I see dr tomorrow. I called about the horrible pain. He wants me to take my pain meds 4 times a day rather than 2 times a day and take gas X. I was reading some scary stuff on here last night which I wish I hadn't!

Thanks dim59. I'm doing my Protein shakes 3 times a day, so getting the Protein in isn't a problem. Sorry to hear you are in so much pain. I haven't taken pain since 3 days home and the last 2 days were only at night to help me sleep. I am passing some gas, but never have any pains with it. I hope you get some relief soon.

Hey Hazel,

I think we were sleeved on the same day I'm able to have cream Soups on my " full liquids" my hubby is a chef he's been making soups for me cream of this and that. At the resturant they make the Soup then run it through the blender. Maybe having some " real food" would help you feel better. I feel like I'm brimming with energy, no pain, tiny BM every other day. I think I was I diagnosed diabetic before my surgery tho. My back hurt and I had to pee all the time. All my symptoms have gone since surgery tho.

Good luck.

Yes, I can have cream Soups, but I am only using the 98% fat free canned kind...not much taste. I get bored with them after a few spoonfuls.

I go back to work tomorrow. Still looking forward to some pureed food on Sunday!!!

I have no idea how you can go back to work already! Good for you!

The doctor told me I could go back in one week and I have an office job...on the computer all day. But I'm taking a bit longer because I was feeling weak. I'm better today, so I should be ok tomorrow.

I don't see my doc til 3 weeks from surgery date.

Woohoo!!! Puréed foods!! Never thought you'd be so excited about purred anything huh?? Lol.

I'm glad your doing better.

I have no idea how much fat is in my Soups but they taste yummy so I'm thinking not 98% fat free lol!! Maybe that's why your loosing 4-5 lb a day and I'm loosing 2-3

Ah well they always say everyone heals different and does different with this surgery. I definitely think go back when YOU feel ready. I couldn't sit up all day in a chair for 8 hours. I think I have bad posture and it makes by pouch feel scrunched unless I really " sit up " which is hard for me to do for hours on end.

Hey guys, I cant wait to go see my Dr. on friday....I have a few questions...

And I have something to confess....

I have ate a few green grapes :/

I know they have sugar....but im trying my best...

I also need help with my Protein intake, I hate milk since I was a baby...I have vanilla, strawberry n chocolate flavor, can you guys please give some ideas on how to mixed with something else, then milk n Water ugh!!!

I also have an intense sometimes mild burning pulling, sting feeling on my right side of my belly, near my belly bottom, I hope is not an hernia twisting or something.

I also feel a little down, cuz my dad called to ask how I was doing , but also to tell me that im going to have a lot of lose skin :(

Also my husband is going back to work tomorrow, so maybe thats why im feeling down, he has help me so much :(

Sorry this post is so long....n a rice with mango lol

Thanks for reading.

MJM you have a lot going on! You need to cut yourself some slack and stay far away from grapes or any other foods at this point!

Have you tried green smoothies with unflavored Protein Powder? I just brought injury from my drs office. My husband mixed it in Jello for me and it was fine.

The Protein is the hardest part but it will help you with hunger and healing.

I love oh yeah shakes strawberry and Cookies and creme are my favorites. They have 32 gm protein in them.

See if you can find unflavored ungury online maybe your best bet.

Don't worry about he skin today cross that road when it's time too. I know that's easier said than done but try your best. If you worry to much about that now you could sobitague your immediate goals.

Good luck and be careful!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
