Good luck and I hope it is a smooth surgery and recovery. I am hoping to be sleeved at the end of January or early February so maybe we will be on the losers bench around the same time :).

I had a long process and just had to switch surgeons. I have new appointment on January 2nd and they said that they will use all my records from my surgeon that got me through up to this point. That was a huge relief. It is my understanding that I could have surgery by the end of January. I would love to have a "buddie" to go through this with! Good luck and keep me posted.

Good luck with ur journey. I was sleeved 11-12-13. I had to do a 6mo thing with my pcp before ins would cover surgery. During that time I lost 15lbs. Morning of surgery I weighed 260. I was very nervous the day before surgery but surprisingly I wasn't too nervous that morning. I had a rough 1st night in recovery threw up/dry heaved all night so I had to stay an extra night but the next day was better. It took me a couple of weeks to feel 100% human again but overall had a good experience. Only issue i have had is i got dehydrated and needed fluids at 3 1/2 weeks out bc i couldnt get enough Fluid in. Still having a hard time with that but getting better. At 5 weeks out I got on scale and for 1st time in 15 years the scale was under 250 (I almost cried). I'm at 227 now and so excited to see whats in store for me :). I wish u well for ur journey. Good luck!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
