How long did the process take you?

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I've jumped thru all the hoops and I'm now in the "waiting for approval stage". I was just wondering how long the process took you.. They told me so far I flew through all the requirements but it does not seem that way...I started beginning of November...So, now I'm wondering how long it takes everyone else. My biggest hurdle would have been a supervised weight loss program but luckily I have been going to "Medical Weight loss Center" for the last 2 years. Some of it seems so unnecessary and time consuming. I understand they don't want people making rash decisions and regretting it later but still it's a pain...I even had to write a letter to the surgeon and explain why I wanted the surgery... Really? I thought it was pretty obvious... Anyway, how long did take you?

Thanks for listening..

3 weeks from start to sleeve for me. 2 weeks from initial consultation to psy eval. Then one week of pre-op diet. I was fasttracked for surgery. I'd already had the medically supervised diet, long before I decided to have surgery. And having sleep apnea immediately qualified me under my insurance. I don't know if my nerve would have held out if I had to wait much longer to be sleeved. I'd already backed out on my first attempt a month earlier.

I started the process in Sept 2013, hopefully I will have surgery by March 2014, I have completed all the requirements except of course for the last minute things, but my insurance requires 6 months before surgery. My sister started the same day as I and her date is 2/6. her insurance doesn't require the full 6 months. I am taking this time to learn how to eat different and since I am an emotional eater, I am learning trigger points. I would like to have done the surgery long ago, but I am learning lots about myself that will help me loose the weight and KEEP IT OFF. think positive!!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
