Man the holidays are hard! I'm surrounded by garbage food! I'm trying to get back onto the program and am wondering what everyones daily meal plan looks like. Calories? Grams Protein? Grams Carbs? Serving sizes? How many times a day do you eat? Thanks !

i start my day off with either a Protein shake (ready to drink because i can't stomach the powders since surgery) or a Protein Bar (i like pure Protein Bars, lots of yummy flavors). lunch i usually do Breakfast because i LOVE Breakfast and i feel like i'm getting deprived doing the Protein Bar or shake in the morning, so i'll make an egg with cheese and a piece of sausage. for Snacks i usually have a string cheese or apple slices. dinner i eat at work (i work evenings and in a group home) so it's whatever my coworker makes, but we always have Protein and a veggie. dessert i usually have a greek yogurt with a few sugar free chocolate chips and almonds thrown in. it's really making sure that you have everything to succeed in your fridge. my husband is a junk addict who lives off of poptarts, Cookies, and tostidos (and doesn't gain a pound!) so i make him hide it all so it's out of my sight and i'm not going to grab for it.

Morning: ready to drink Protein drink

Mid-morning: maybe a string cheese because the Protein Drink doesn't last

Lunch: 3-4 oz. of dense Protein. Today that was Italian beef from the crock pot

Dinner: 3-4 oz. of dense protein. chicken or a naked hamburger patty.

If I snack, I would usually grab a string cheese. Or a sugar-free pudding. Sometimes I will have one or two sugar-free Reese's mini candies.

I am averaging 800 calories daily. My doc just said that is too low. Dense protein really fills me up so if I stick to the plan, I don't think I can up my calories right now.

Right when I get up: Chike Protein coffee shake

Breakfast: usually either 1/2 Greek yogurt container + 1 T. Peanut Butter or 1/4 c. refried Beans with some additional protein (chicken sausage, turkey bacon, or a poached egg) plus some melted cheese & salsa

Lunch: about 1.5 oz deli meat, a babybel cheese, and either roasted edamame, almonds, or prunes

afternoon snack: Protein Shake or protein hot chocolate

Dinner: varies, usually about 1.5 ounce meat of some sort (shrimp, turkey burger, etc.) plus a quarter cup of green veggies and either some cheese, guacamole, dried fruit, etc.

Numbers: Under 800 calories, 60 grams carbs, 30 grams fat. Minimum of 75 grams of protein, and I aim for 10 grams of Fiber and getting 100% of my RDA of Calcium from food rather than supplements.< /p>

Things that are completely off limits: starchy veggies, food with refined sugar, food with any kind of grain.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
