reading mom 85 Posted December 20, 2013 Poor baby! When my kids get poison ivy I put them in a tub with aveeno then use caladryl lotion. You probably already know that, but thought I would share just in case. Take care and feel better soon! 1 gmanbat reacted to this
gmanbat 5,889 Posted December 20, 2013 I got some tecnu extreme medicated poison ivy scrub and have to use it twice a day to maintain sanity. In the picture I have calamine lotion on which helps a bit, too. I have it on both arms, belly, and legs. I put my picture up on Facebook to make my snowbound northern friends feel better about not being in sunny Florida. My niece then told me she got it in December from a log she threw into the fireplace!

PdxMan 4,292 Posted December 20, 2013 Figured out how to merge the threads. I was in Siesta Key a few years ago. That beach is just bizarre. Highly recommend a visit to anyone. Your lucky you got that poison ivy just on your arms! 1 gmanbat reacted to this

Your lucky you got that poison ivy just on your arms! Yup, Siesta Key is one of the few beaches that won't burn your feet, the sand is so white it reflects the light away. You got that right about poison spreading to inconvenient places. I managed to avoid that. Believe me, it was on my mind!
gmanbat 5,889 Posted December 20, 2013 Never wanted to live in Florida. Too many big bugs and people.. Ya, everything is a trade-off. Amazingly, the mosquitoes here a much less oppressive than Ohio, can't tell you for sure why other than that they spray for them here. The heat here is a blessing to my joints, cold gives me ouchies. Much more to do here, lotsa fun stuff, diverse races and ethnicities, sunlight, no state tax. Traffic...yes..especially around Orlando. But like they say here, there's a reason for the crowds. 1 RJ'S/beginning reacted to this
