Thats great! Youve done really well! I hope I can do the same..I was just sleeved last Friday and had internal bleeding so I had to have another surgery Saturday morning and blood transfusions the rest of the day. Definitely not what I had in mind!! But Ive had some bad nausea as well and Im praying I dont have anymore complications! I live in Wilmington but was sleeved in Pinehurst.

Was the first week or two rough for you?! I keep second guessing whether or not I made the right decision!

Merry Christmas to you too!

Sorry it's taken a bit to respond. Holiday stuff is time consuming!! LoL

Unfortunately complications come with this to some degree. I developed a slight stricture and ha to have a ballon dilatation last week.

It does get better. The first month I had to figure out how to get in my Proteins and fluids without being so sick to my stomach. I use nectar Protein Powder unflavored and I have found it goes in everything!! Yay!

I doing regret a moment of my surgery. Even with the nausea I dont regret it. Try the GNC ready to drink Protein Shakes, they are great and not to thick or overly sweet. Also if you get tired of plain Water mix it 75/25 with apple juice or cranberry grape juice. I don't like plain water so that helps me get my water in.

Hey! I am in the Raleigh area. Still pre-op, though. I just had my gallbladder removed last Thursday. Recovery hasn't been too bad. Looking forward to my sleeve surgery!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
