We need more info -- are you just banded, what is going on? I would contact surgeon or go into ER immediately! This is not okay.

How fast are you drinking? How much are you drinking at once? What does the pain feel like? I would venture a guess that you are gulping too much at once instead of sipping a few drops at a time. My goal that early out was an ounce every 15 minutes. Then I got to 2 ounces over 15 minutes after week 1.

What are you drinking from? :)

Relax! You are going to be fine.

I was just banded on Monday as well. You can't gulp it anymore. I think of it like drinking whiskey or brandy or something you have to sip and savor. I definitely drink more than 1 oz per 15 mins, but it's little sips at a time. Sip, swallow, sip, swallow (and not too fast). If sips don't work, yeah you should go to the ER!

Yeah somewhat but not too bad. I'm drinking hot tea, Protein Shakes, juices, broth, and Water. I've tried to limit my broth to limit my sodium to keep me from being too thirsty. I feel like I'm constantly sipping on something. Maybe that's why my shoulder won't stop hurting.

Are you always thirsty?

It is very frustrating in the beginning being so thirsty and wanting to drink so badly. You just have to take it slow and eventually you will be able to drink like you used to. Best of luck on your recovery! :)

Thanks K How long are u post op

I'm nine months post op. I remember I had such a hard time. I used to love drinking ice cold Water. Then after surgery that hit me like a ton of bricks! Had to try room temp, warm in tea, anything and everything!

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
