Three weeks out and not losing weight!

Recommended Posts

I lost 5 kg or about 10 lbs the first week and nothing since. I've been eating healthy. What's going on? Do some people just not lose at all?

Dont worry. You will lose. There will be a lot of times when you dont lose for a couple weeks or a month or whatever. Just keep doing what you are suppossed to. Keep a good mental outlook and trust in the positive changes you are making.

I know its hard, sometimes I feel like its been forever since I lost a lb and then I look at my calendar and its been 4 or 5 days when I could have sworn it was weeks!

Plus the 3 week stall is the most common one.

The weight we lose in week one and two is Water weight and some fat. As u put back foods into your diet, especially at week 3.. We add salty foods back to our diet and more dense foods. Our bowel movements are also pronounced than week 1 or 2. Stick to your food protocol ..U are losing fat and nches..your body is adjusting. And you will get stalls.. That is just natural. Week 3 stalls are always a subject for new sleevers.

Ok I'll try to keep my head up. It just seems like other people plato months after not a week after. It's been two weeks since I dropped. I only started at 210 and I know heavier people loss faster but shoot, I haven't even dipped under the 200 mark.

I had a sleeve on 11/12/13. With the pre-op diet and post surgery, I have lost 35 lbs. but have not lost anything in 10 days. It sounds like I am experiencing the same thing as you.

I was sleeved on Dec 9. Lost 10 first week but then only 3 in this week. On the bright side it's 13 lbs that I hope to never ever see again! Haha

It's so frustrating! I'm eating like a little baby bird, had this huge thing done to my body and still not losing weight. I started at 210 and last night I was 203. I'd gained back 2 lbs.

I had a similar experience lost ten pounds the first week then gained in week two . Week three lost those two pounds I had gained. In week four I lost 6 pounds. hopefully I am on the downward slide now!

I was sleeved on Dec 2 and weighed 208 today I weigh 197. I haven't lost anything after 1.5 weeks I was also moved from liquids to mushies a week after surgery. So I guess that makes a difference. Don't be discouraged! I'm starting to see that this is a common thing!

Very common! I'm almost 7wks out (monday) and I'm down 34lbs including 11lbs preop. But I'm satisfied. Usually stay the same for a week or so then drop a couple of lbs. Get used to the stalls they come and go! Stay with ur plan and get ready for the journey!

It's very common, happens to most folks. And brace yourself, it won't be the last stall you have, lasting from days to weeks.

Just trust in your sleeve and stick to the plan, the weight will come off. It won't always come off steadily, I described my weight loss as steps and stairs, nothing for a few weeks, then a drop.

Don't get disheartened, this is normal. And one piece of advice - it's hard not to, but please don't compare your weight loss to others. It happens differently for each of us and remember, it's a marathon not a sprint. I have been a slow loser but I am almost there - and it was worth every stall that drove me nuts on the way there !!!!

My Scottish friend Indigo is right. Don't compare yourself to others. We're all different.

I was sleeved 09/18, just over 13 weeks ago. Had my first stall at three weeks which lasted for two. I have just come out of another stall which lasted for FIVE weeks, but this week I've lost six pounds. You take the good with the bad and I don't regret it for one moment. This has been the best thing I've ever done.

To date since surgery I've lost 42 pounds. I'm down 4 dress sizes and I feel great.

It took me 40 years to accumulate this weight and if it takes me 2 years to lose it with a few stalls along the way, then so be it.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
