I had surgery on 10/16/2013 the first few weeks went great. I recovered quickly and was back to work after two weeks. Around week 5 I started getting severely naseaus eating or drinking anything made it much worse. I was still on a full liquid stage. I was given some anti nausea medication but it didn't help. I became severely dehydrated and had to get IV fluids several times before my surgeon admitted me to the hospital. I had my gallbladder removed and I thought that would help with the naseau but it got worse. It got to where I was vomiting every 30 mins and could not keep anything down. I was hospitalized again and had a picc line placed and received TPN and lipids. I finally was able to come home yesterday. I'm trying really hard not to feel regret about having the surgery. Its just been a rough road and I'm hoping it starts to get a little better.

Paige, I am so sorry you have had a rough time, and I am saying a prayer for your recovery. I am sure you must have a really good doctor and that is important!

don't waste your time on regrets hun..That takes your energy away from your ability to get better..dig in and ride it

through...For some of us it has been the road from hell..

Keep in mind why you did it and if there are any positive changes that you see so far.....Ask yourself: What was I willing to do to get healthy before I had the surgery and could I have done it on my own.....

Attitude, strength from within and will power will carry you through not to mention support from those who love you and this forum.....

Get some G2 Gatorade and drink 1/2 a bottle mixed with 1/2 Water every day...It will bring your electrolytes up. Over a year later and I still drink it every day....K....You got this kid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm in the same boat except mine has been since after sugery on 11/18. By week 3 I was admitted and now have a PICC line and on TPN. Went to follow up today I will remain on TPN another 3 weeks. Seem my sleeve did not heal correctly that i have a bend causing all my nausea and vomiting, dr says it will get better with time. If not a possible bypass is possible. I do have regret because I miss my life. Being stuck at home and having homecare not my idea of perfect living right now.

I know where you are coming from as I spent 5 months in the hospital due to complications with my sleeve surgery. I came home and still had care up until a month or two ago. Today I am fighting pneumonia and dislocated ribs because of the WLS complications...It is tragic that so many have complications with this surgery. However your not alone and you have not had it as bad as some others on here...

Before you know it you will be on your way enjoying your journey and reaping the results of it....

I went through a lot, but I try not to dwell to much on it and more on the results so far.

Take the time you need to recuperate, because once you do feel better you will have a lot of energy to place and I have found that at times to be just as difficult as being sick for over a year.....

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
