M.A. Cruz 15 Posted December 18, 2013 Any exercise tips to shrink your skin as you're losing?
Dani.o.dani 67 Posted December 18, 2013 Strength training and weight lifting to build muscle, cardio to burn fat. The skin is a highly elastic organ that requires lots of lubrication, so make sure you are drinking adequate amount of water! Also skin cells need Omega 3, 6,9 fatty acids, collagen, Biotin and essential oils. Make sure you are getting enough Protein to build muscle so it will fill out the skin. Good luck! Butterthebean 8,146 Posted December 19, 2013 Afraid to say there are so many variables that are out of our control. And so many anecdotal wisdoms that we don't know which is true and which isn't. They say if you lose too fast it will be worse....they don't know but they say it. Yes building muscle will help fill out the void created by lost fat, but if you have 100 plus pounds to lose and alot of it is in your abdomen, you can't build enough muscle there to make up for it. The best you can do is keep yourself healthy, keep hydrated and take care of your skin as much as possible. And keep in mind that while loose skin isn't terribly attractive....it's better and healthier than fat. Best of luck. 4 gmanbat, LI Gemini NY, aroundhky and 1 other reacted to this
gmanbat 5,889 Posted December 19, 2013 Butterthebean is correct as usual. I am approaching the start of my 3rd year after surgery. I will be 65 in another week. I lost about 130 pounds. All of these things play into how much loose skin is present in the aftermath. I am surprised that my skin still appears to be tightening very slowly. My only area of complaint now is around my deflated belly area. I no longer have bat wings on the arms and my pectoral area is lifting a bit. Another year may do me good in the esthetics department if I maintain my exercise level and eating diligence. I am determined to do so. 6 pquinn181, Blessed Mz, Fiddleman and 3 others reacted to this
