Shopping, shopping and more shopping. Okay, I've always had that addiction, but now I have so many more choices!

Isn't the shopping one crazy? I walk into a store I have never been able to buy from and I absolutely can not leave without buying something....

Looking in the mirror :-D

It is crazy and almost embarrassing at how obsessed I have become with checking myself out. Mirrors can't be walked past, shop windows evoke a quick glance, even the iPhone provides an instant 'selfie' so I can keep in check.

Oh the shame! Lol. Not really, I think it is a healthy part of the journey for me.

Guilty of being a selfie whore.. Shopping is fun too. I've become a feeder I enjoy watching people eat what I make.. Wish I could be addicted to exercise but no such luck..

Shopping. I hated shopping before. Sex. Been so many years I forgot what that is. The Mirror. Bypassed mirrors in the past, can't help but to have a glance every time I go past. The Bath, had not had one in years, bit embarrassed, but now I can get in and out I have one every week, with bubbles.

well i started my preop diet early, i've been working on it since october. I gave up chocolate, alcohol, and cigarettes. Though I've only been banded 2 weeks. I know that I have 2 new addictions. When stressed i used to eat. . IT was my comfort. Now that I've been losing weight my new addiction is sex. and the other one is checking myself in the mirror. I feel kinda vain though for looking in the mirror so much.

I always shopped....I just enjoy it a lot more now! Now it's a necessity because I have to constantly replace basic work clothes. I've noticed that if I go a weekend without a little shopping, I feel like I didn't do everything I should have, lol.

I'm addicted to the attention that I get from men when I go out! That's just awful to say but I said it. I still haven't gone home with anyone...My confidence isn't quite there yet. But, it sure is fun to flirt...and kiss a little...

I used to hate shopping. Now "buying" I have no problem with but that's why we have Amazon. My husband is tickled that I will entertain the idea of going shopping with him after date night now but I wouldn't say it's an addiction (yet). I'd say BariatricPal is definitely close to an obsession (especially because I'm on the road and have hours in my hotel room to fill). I'm looking forward to being home long enough for sex to become an addiction! Other than that I spend a lot of time on mybodygallery.com putting in different parameter values so I can imagine what the new me will look like.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
