I'm feeling really stupid right now. My husband and kids went out for Cinco de mayo. I didn't go because I wasn't feeling up to eating Mexican. I went to the grocery store to get some stuff for my sons teacher for teacher appreciation day tomorrow. Had to pass by the bakery and couldn't, or didn't, pass on an apple turnover. Then...proceeded to eat half of it on the car...a big no-no. Came home just in time for it to make a return engagement.

Why did I do this to myself? I knew I couldn't eat it? I knew what would happen. My asthma is in high gear and I have felt crappy for a few days. I'm having major aversions to food. Most days I just want to drink a Protein smoothie, eat a Protein Bar, and be done with it all. I've lost 78 lbs since 12-20 so I know I'm doing something right. I just wish I could get back on track with eating regular food and liking it.

Don't be too hard on yourself. You're human, and sometimes "want" pushes us too far. Remember, we have a lifetime of bad habits to overcome. Just try to remember this experience the next time you're faced with the challenge. In the meantime, forgive yourself.

Yeah, I'm five months out too and having some trouble. I've increased my fluids and varying my food helps (I get lazy and eat the same foods often). My doc recommends Senecot lax tablet since they're the most natural, and they usually help overnight.

For what it's worth, you may want to call the surgeons group, and drink your Protein today.

That would scare me! I'd call the dr too, just to be on the safe side. I get nervous anytime I have a belly ache or pain. Does anyone else have just an uneasy kind of feeling in your stomach? I don't really know how to explain it just doesn't feel right and it's always there. Dr can't find anything wrong but it's like just a blah feeling, maybe that's why I have this aversion to eating food most of the time. I'm grateful for the weight loss but I'm ready to feel normal again.

I take a probiotic with 50million organisms once a day...that really helped!! A nutritionist told my friend any under 25million won't do much.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
