ElliottWasHere 41 Posted December 17, 2013 Seasons greetings~ I start my two week liquid diet on the 31st of this month. I wanted to know if anybody has some suggestions on what products are good during this time. I'm going to check in with my Doctor next week to discuss what I should have during that time. I know the basics of Jello, Protein Shakes, broth and popsicles but i'm wondering if there is anything else that i'm missing. =]
Arts137 1,811 Posted December 17, 2013 My program prescribed Optifast. But don't worry, your program will give you specific instructions! 1 ElliottWasHere reacted to this
NJ mom of 4 20 Posted December 17, 2013 Hi, from what I understand every Dr is different or at least they differ slightly in what they are allowing their patients to eat. My dr allows 3-4 Protein Shakes and one small meal every night except for 24 hours prior to surgery. Some Drs aren't allowing that or just veggies and such. It is probably best to check with your Dr as to what he's allowing on his PreOp diet requirements!!! I started my diet yesterday... So we around the same time surgery wise!!! Good luck!!! 1 ElliottWasHere reacted to this

Everything you listed was on mine except I get 1 cup of raw vegetables in the afternoon and I can choose between skim milk or light yogurt 3 times a day. Definitely check with your doctor for what you're allowed to have though. My surgeon's office sent me an email basically telling me what to have and when to have it (not including the additional liquids in between). Water gets boring sometimes so I know I'm allowed to have Crystal Light if I want too (haven't bought any though). Good luck on your diet and upcoming surgery! 1 ElliottWasHere reacted to this
Amanda Nicole Hosaflook 65 Posted December 17, 2013 I'm on all liquids and they gave me the packets. I can't have any of my own food. 1 ElliottWasHere reacted to this
