LynRN 294 Posted December 17, 2013 What were you eating at 3 weeks post op? I am currently on puréed foods with some soft foods allowed like scrambled eggs, cheese, refried Beans, tuna/chicken salad, and watermelon. I am eating 3 meals per day with 1 or 2 Protein Shakes which comes to 60-80g Protein and 650-700 calories per day. Does this sound right? Also, I have noticed that sometimes I get burpy and it feels like the food is dancing up and down my esophagus for like an hour after I eat. There's no pain at all. It's just annoying. Does that mean that I'm not tolerating those particular foods or am I eating too fast or too much? I'd like some feedback from those of you who have some insight into this. Thanks. EarthyGoalie 253 Posted December 17, 2013 According to what I've been told, it sure does sound right! But at 3 weeks, other than the post I made about eating pizza and Pasta (do NOT try this at home! I'm a food addict, I didn't resist, and paid the price afterwards)-- anyway, other than that slip up, I was eating 40 to 60 g of Protein a day, but my doctor told me that if I could increase, then to do just that! I was having Greek yogurt, and babybel cheese. As well as Protein Shakes and some string cheese.
EarthyGoalie 253 Posted December 17, 2013 As far as being burps, OH YEAH! Big time. I still do today... But I don't really get that feeling like food is dancing around an hour later... But if it is just annoying but isn't uncomfortable, than I wouldn't worry about it. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. :-/

Thanks. I am also three weeks post op and by your post I see I am not being as diligent as you. I've basically been eating when hungry which turns out to be a cup of Decaf with sugar free non dairy Creamer then half a scrambled egg for Breakfast. lunch is usually a half cup of Soup (usually Tomato, potato or black bean.) Somewhere in there I try to drink a nectar protein and then have a lite baby bell cheese and some oatmeal made with milk for dinner. Somedays I can get that second Protein Drink in and others I just can't stomach it. Now that the list of foods is getting greater I see I need to do more planning ahead. Any advice for an unorganized woman who works ten hours a day from home but hates to cook? Lol
